Grapefruit (Citrus paradisi) is an evergreen fruit from the family of rutaceae (Rutaceae), of which many varieties and cultural forms are grown today. Its leaves are leathery. STAR RUBY

It is grown in the Western Mediterranean Region of Turkey and has been spreading rapidly in recent years. It is one of the most exported varieties for fresh consumption. It is the darkest variety among grapefruits. The shape of this fruit, which is round, slightly flattened, is quite red inside and out. The skin of the fruit, which is shiny, smooth and thin, is easily peeled, smooth and thin. It has less acidity (1.49%), very juicy (43.67%) and delicious compared to other grapefruits. It is almost seedless.

WHITE MARSH SEEDLESS

It is one of the oldest golden ball varieties cultivated in our country. The fruit shell is yellow in color, flat, shiny and thin. The peel is tightly bound to the fruit flesh. The fruit is a slightly flattened round shape. White grapefruits are juicy flavored, seedless and pale yellow in color. In recent years, with the increasing interest in colored gold ball varieties, its production has come to minimum levels.

RIO RED

The most recently developed colored grapefruit variety is Rio Red. The flesh color is five times darker than Ruby, the juice rate is twice that of Red Ruby, and it is as crunchy as Star Ruby. It has very few cores. The skin is hard to peel. It is a suitable variety for those who want a late and colorful grapefruit. The amount of sugar is 9.4%, the amount of acid is 1.22%, and the sugar/acid ratio is 7.7.
