Watermelon Citrullus lanatus is an annual herb from the Cucurbitaceae family. Its arms can extend up to 3-4 m on the soil surface. Although the roots go deep under waterless farming conditions, the fringe roots are mostly concentrated at 40-50 cm depth in irrigated farming conditions. Its large ball-shaped fruits are sweet and juicy. watermelon cultivation has spread over a wide area in the world and in Turkey. 25% of world watermelon production is made in Turkey.
